Westlake collision leaves 9 injured

WESTLAKE, Calif. Police said two vehicles collided in the intersection on the 600 block of South Rampart Boulevard at about 10 p.m.

A car broadsided a station wagon, spun out, hit a fence and a post, then struck two people walking on a sidewalk.

Six women and three men were injured in the incident. They were all taken to local hospitals, five with moderate injuries and four with minor injuries.

The cause of the collision is under investigation.
