3 men arrested in child sex crimes cases

SANTA ANA, Calif. According to investigators, two of the men met their victims online. They say the victims are teenage girls.

The Sexual Assault Felony Enforcement team, or SAFE team, arrested 23-year-old Richard Chaney of Costa Mesa, 34-year-old David Brown of Lake Forest, and 21-year-old Brock Jackson of Rancho Santa Margarita.

The SAFE team is made up of local and federal law enforcement agencies.

Chaney is charged with having sex with a minor and rape of an unconscious victim. He remains in custody.

Chaney met a 14-year-old girl online and asked her to perform live video sex acts online, according to David Barroway of the California Department of Justice. Chaney allegedly later met the teen and had sexual intercourse with her. The victim's mother reported the relationship to the SAFE team in early June, said Barroway.

Authorities believe Chaney may have more victims, and found multiple videos of other girls, who may be minors, at his home.

Brown is facing charges of oral copulation with a minor and intercourse with a minor. He turned himself in on Wednesday and was released on $100,000 bond.

"Brown used the Internet to instant message young high school girls and make contact with them. Brown met a 15-year-old female and ended up having a four-month sexual relationship with her," said Barroway.

Authorities also believe Brown may have additional victims.

Jackson has been charged with possession and receipt of child pornography after hundreds of porn videos involving children and over 6,000 pornographic images were discovered on his laptop. He remains in custody and is due to be arraigned in federal court later Thursday.
