Elderly woman killed in apparent robbery

RIALTO, Calif. Police officers said the 83-year-old woman lived alone on the 500 block of East Huff Street and was last seen around 9 p.m. Thursday talking to neighbors. Her body was found Friday morning by a friend. Investigators said she died from an apparent homicide. Her name was not released.

The victim's daughter said her mother was killed during an attempted burglary.

"We're just reaching out, me and my family, to anybody that may know who came here to harm her or to rob her and things went bad," said Cindy Davis.

Police said the woman's house had been ransacked, but are still talking with neighbors to try to figure out what happened.
