Nick Jonas testifies on Capitol Hill

CAPITOL HILL It seemed like every female staffer and their kids showed up to hear /*Nick Jonas*/ talk about living with Type 1 diabetes.

Jonas says he found out he had the disease while on tour with his brothers in 2005. He says they noticed he'd lost 15 pounds and "had a bad attitude," which he says isn't like him at all.

They made sure he went to the doctor, who told him he had diabetes. Jonas told the AP after the hearing that he sees his diabetes as chance to be "an encouragement and an inspiration" to others who suffer from the disease. His message to them is "keep the hope up" because "one day we'll find a cure."
