Queen Latifah: 'Ice Age' is entertaining

Hollywood Wrap with George Pennacchio
LOS ANGELES This week, we hear /*Queen Latifah*/ back on the big screen with the latest sequel to "Ice Age."

It might not be her first time to voice an animated movie, but the film did offer her a different kind of first.

"I can't remember, playing a role where I had a baby or was pregnant or anything. This is a first after all these years," said Latifah.

Queen Latifah brings the animated mammoth Ellie to life in "Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs." When asked to return for a third trip to the "Ice Age," Latifah didn't think twice.

"This is a big old adventure movie it has action packed scenes. It will keep you on the edge of your seat, and it's so funny -- hugely entertaining," said Latifah.

Adding the kid demographic to her long resume just means an even bigger fan base for this entertainer.

"You know my label used to trip out, because they couldn't put my audience in just one box. They couldn't target the money all in one direction. It was spread across ages, races, genres, it was everybody," said Latifah.

And that means she gets recognized by people who are 6 years old or 60 years old.
