Teen thanks cadet who saved his life

SAN PEDRO, Calif. Frank Miramontes, 20, found 18-year-old Shonte Webb lying in a street in Rancho Palos Verdes following a car crash the night of July 7. Webb had no vital signs.

Miramontes, who had just gone through first aid training, revived Webb twice before paramedics arrived.

At a ceremony honoring Miramontes Monday, Webb called in to say thank you.

"Hey man, I'm just happy to hear you're alive. It's really fulfilling to know that you're OK and you're doing well," Miramontes told Webb via telephone.

"It's all thanks to you, all thanks to you," responded Webb, who is continuing to recover.

Anne Keinburger, a nurse who lives near the crash scene, was the other hero in this story. She helped guide Miramontes through CPR.
