Automatic weapons fired at L.A. police

LOS ANGELES The shots were fired on Clyde Avenue, south of Venice Boulevard, just after 11 a.m.

After an LAPD chopper saw a rifle on the ground and suspects near the weapon, police warned the suspects through a loud speaker on the chopper not to touch the gun, or they'll be fired on.

Police were unable to locate the suspects, and there were no signs that anyone had been injured by gunfire.
