OCTA may look at ending bus service

SANTA ANA, Calif. According to the /*Orange County Register*/, weekday ridership dropped about 20 percent in June, compared with the same month last year.

The drop is being blamed on fare hikes, cuts in bus service and a rise in unemployment.

/*Orange County Transportation Authority*/ board member and Supervisor /*John Moorlach*/ says the OCTA should look at whether to even offer bus service.

If it's discontinued, the county would lose highway funding.
