CSULB to take 1st furlough day Thursday

LONG BEACH, Calif. Starting Thursday, the university will take its first of 17 mandatory furlough days, which means no financial aid or enrollment services will be available to students.

CSU employees are being forced to take unpaid furlough days to help save the state money.

The education system is facing a $584 million deficit.
