Detectives said the gun went off accidentally, hitting the boy. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
An autopsy is pending on Friday.

Teen killed while playing with gun
CARSON, Calif. Police said Christian Madrigal and his friend had been playing video games at a home in the 21400 block of Orrick Avenue at about 2:40 p.m. The boys somehow got into a locked gun cabinet inside the home and got out a gun.
