Plan could bring $54M to L.A. courts

SUN VALLEY, Calif. Right now courts are closed once a month. Presiding Judge Charles "Tim" McCoy worries the fiscal situation could get worse, and is suggesting money for new courthouse construction could be diverted to keep operations open.

McCoy says the move would bring an additional $54 million to the courts.

Right now, the courts face a deficit of at least $90 million over the next four fiscal years.
