Teens charged as adults for beating man

YUCAIPA, Calif. The caretaker is on life support.

The 43-year-old man was attacked Saturday night at the Yucaipa facility.

Authorities say 17-year-old Carlos Dubose and 16-year-old gang member Davion Whitmore then drove off in the victim's car.

CHP arrested them after a pursuit.

Authorities say the beating happened when one of the boys became angry that he was not given a pass to leave the home.

When police arrived, they found the victim bound and unconscious in a bedroom closet. He had allegedly been beaten with a steam iron and a wooden dowel.
