Ryan Jenkins' sister says he is innocent

LOS ANGELES /*Alena Jenkins*/ says she didn't spend a lot of time with her brother while growing up because he was much older. However, she says they had grown closer in recent months, and she doesn't believe Ryan was capable of committing murder.

/*Ryan Jenkins*/ committed suicide in a remote hotel room in British Columbia, Canada. The 32-year-old real estate developer was being sought for the murder of his 28-year-old ex-wife, /*Jasmine Fiore*/.

Her mutilated body was found last month stuffed in a suitcase and dumped in a trash bin in Buena Park. The mysterious blonde woman who drove Jenkins to the hotel hasn't been identified. Some believe it was his younger sister, Alena. On /*Good Morning America*/, she admitted having contact with her brother after the murder.

"I did have communication with Ryan before any warrant was out for his arrest, and he seemed somewhat normal but he was you know, very distraught over you know, his wife," said Alena.

Alena Jenkins, who is 13 years younger than Ryan, says she had her doubts when her brother, a reality show contestant, married Fiore, a former bikini model within three days of meeting her in Las Vegas. But Ryan convinced her he was in love.

"Apparently, Jasmine generally was you know, a kind of a bit of a showoff if you will, and apparently she would quite often expose her breasts in public places just for you know, fun," said Alena.

The Canadian native was charged with hitting Fiore earlier this year and convicted of assaulting another woman in 2007.

"Basically what happened apparently in Las Vegas with Jasmine was, simply she was found kissing another man and I guess he shoved her into a pool which somehow leaded to an assault charge," said Alena.

Alena Jenkins says she can't explain why her brother went on the run and then took his own life after Fiore's killing.

"I'm sure that he was distraught. I'm sure that this media coverage and everything had something to do with it also. I hold onto the thought that he couldn't possibly do this and you know, until proven without a doubt, I have to say that I believe that my brother is innocent"

When asked if she was the woman who checked Ryan Jenkins into the Canadian hotel, Alena Jenkins said she couldn't comment.
