The L.A. District Attorney's office wants to remind pet owners that leaving pets unattended in hot cars is a crime. They're doing it with an image that may shake some people up. It's a poster that shows a dog in an oven.
It's supposed to remind people animal cruelty is a crime. Pet owners who leave their pets alone in cars could face up to six months in jail if the pet dies.
Even when the temperature outside is a mild 72 degrees, temperatures inside a locked car can top 100 degrees.
