Oprah aims to interview Jaycee Dugard

LOS ANGELES As they kick off season 24, Oprah Winfrey and her team will continue producing their daily talk show in the best way they know how, and that's come from 23 years of learning as they go!

"There was not a strategy or plan, we really went from one day to the next, we were like, let's do this show, then that show," Winfrey told Eyewitness News.

"Everybody looks at it now, we look back, how did you become so successful? I'm telling you, it is truly the grace of god, because we really were just flying by seat of our panty hose," Winfrey describes.

The Oprah show has big plans for its 24th season.

In a sit down interview with Winfrey, Eyewitness News asked if there was one interview she had her eye on.

"In the history of my career, I have an aggressive team; they're like we've got to be first," says Winfrey.

"I don't play that game, I really don't. I'm happy if somebody wants to talk to me, if they don't want to talk to me, fine. I don't have to be the first at anything," she adds, "Except, I want that interview. I really do want an opportunity to talk to Jaycee," emphasizes Winfrey.

While some reports say Oprah has already booked this interview, her production company tells Eyewitness News that there is no truth to the rumors. Still, it doesn't mean Oprah's team isn't trying!

"It's the first time in my career that I actually have said to producers, when I first heard that story, Gayle woke me up at 4:30 in the morning to say, 'you should turn on the news, there's a story,'" says Winfrey.

"When I heard the details of the story, I thought, that's a story I'd like to tell on the platform of this show.

But first, the season kicks off with Winfrey's exclusive sit down interview with singer Whitney Houston.
