LOS ANGELES --More people are going hungry in L.A. County. The demand is growing at Southland food banks as the local economy continues to struggle.The L.A. Regional Food Bank says the number of people seeking help has reached a quarter-of-a-million, up 34 percent from last year. The agency says it now supplies its 500 pantries with a million pounds of food every week.
The food bank says people who've donated food in the past are now showing up at pantries in L.A. County, looking for help.
