Mark Steadman, the salon's owner, quit his job as a vice president of a truck and SUV suspension-lift company in March to open a hair and skin care salon, giving himself a new job and creating eight more positions.
"Instead of a just a traditional grand opening, we wanted to do something to give back and help people when they need it most," says Steadman.
"With the job market being so competitive, if you do not feel 100 percent at your best, it will show in the interview," he added.
Also at the grand opening, employment agency Abigail Abbott and Abbott Labor of Buena Park will be collecting resumes and contacting people later with job advice.
