Fatal hit-and-run kills woman in Perris

PERRIS, Calif. Riverside County Police say she was crossing Highway 74 at 7th Street at around 5:30 P.M. Sunday when she was struck by a dark colored compact coupe with front-end damage.

She died at the scene, and the driver never stopped.

Investigators are now looking for the coupe.

Witnesses tell officers that two cars were street racing, and one of them hit the victim.
