Cool Kid with disorder cares for others

LOS ANGELES Due to a rare blood disorder, Cool Kid /*Mia Stoutenborough*/ is facing a future of bone marrow transplants and chemotherapy. In spite of that, she is thinking of how she can bring relief to others.

"I'm going through so much and I see other people like me and I just want to help them," said Mia.

Right now Mia has blood drives and haircutting events to raise funds and raise awareness of the need for blood donations. For the future, she has more ways to lift spirits.

"It's always good to have a friend," said Mia. "I'd like to go to hospitals and talk to kids and it's always good to have someone to talk to."

Mia has had occasions to see that there have been positive results.

"It gives me hope because they've gone through so much and they're doing good today," said Mia.

Facing a disease with strength within herself, at the same time caring for others, she is our Cool Kid, Mia Stoutenborough.
