BOYLE HEIGHTS, Calif. --
The search is on for a hit-and-run driver who slammed into a woman and two others while they were crossing the street. It happened around 10:30 p.m. on Saturday night in the 500 block of South Lorena Street in Boyle Heights, near the Lorena Street exit off the 60 Freeway.
A 19-year-old woman died at the hospital.
A 14-year-old girl and a 37-year-old woman are in critical condition.
Police say the car that hit the women was a dark-colored 1993 Chrysler Concord and had California license plate number 3-E-C-W-1-2-1.
Police are also looking for Carol Vega, the registered owner of the vehicle.
