The body of 29-year old Sandi Duncan of Barstow was discovered last week southeast of Dale Evans Parkway and Stoddard Wells Road.
San Bernardino County Sheriff's investigators say Duncan was stationed at Fort Irwin but was injured and later medically discharged.
She was living in Barstow and attending college.
No arrests have been made.
