New research suggests there is a demographic divide among those who use Facebook and those who use MySpace.A study conducted by Nielsen Claritas found that Facebook members are more financially affluent than those that choose to use MySpace.
The most affluent are 25 percent more likely to use Facebook, whereas those who do not make much money are 37 percent more likely to choose MySpace.
Nielsen's data also showed that about half of the U.S. population visited a social networking website in the last year.
