Officials say they had to chase the bear out of the Hastings Ranch area before it scampered back into the woods on Wednesday. They say the animal didn't cause any damage.
Police used the reverse 911 system to alert residents about the sighting. They say residents should stay indoors if the bear comes back.
The bear is estimated to weigh between 400 and 500 pounds.
