O.C. federal building evacuated

SANTA ANA, Calif. It all began shortly before 9 a.m. when seven people complained of respiratory problems.

Four were sent to hospitals.

Those who felt sick were reportedly in or near an elevator so firefighters evacuated a basement elevator area and also shut off the nine-story building's air handling system.

People in other parts of the building were told to stay where they were.

A hazardous materials team gave the all-clear about two hours after the incident began.

AP contributed to this report.
