LOS ANGELES --A transient who may have been intoxicated was lying in the road when he was fatally struck by a hit-and-run driver in South Los Angeles Sunday. The death at Broadway at 93rd Street occurred about 3:30 a.m., said Los Angeles police Sgt. Philip Thompson of the Southeast Station.
The victim, a man about 60, died at the scene, he said.
According to witnesses, the man was drunk and lying in the road when a white car ran over him and kept going, he said.
