Vigil held for Santa Fe Springs woman

SANTA FE SPRINGS, Calif. The victim's church organized the memorial in Santa Fe Springs, where the remains of 21-year-old Stephanie Almanzan were discovered Tuesday in a garbage bin after firefighters put out a trash bin fire along Firestone Boulevard.

Her hands and feet had been bound. Authorities identified her by using dental records.

Friends and family members remembered Stephanie Sunday night.

"She's a jewel to me, she was priceless," said Stephanie's father, Richard Almanzan, "and she was a mom. I mean what kind of person does this to another human being, to a mother, to my baby?"

The victim and her family live in Whittier.

Police are searching for suspects and trying to uncover a motive.
