Joan Collins takes on one-woman show

LOS ANGELES Being a show business survivor is one of the themes of "An Evening With Joan Collins", a one-woman stage show about her life, her career and the people in it.

"In the background, all the way through the entire hour and 15 minutes, we have film, photographs, clips from movies, outtakes and we have scenes," said Joan.

Joan delves into her diva role on "Dynasty," a role she seemed destined to play.

"I started off playing juvenile delinquents," said Joan. "Then I played young teenagers that got pregnant and not married and then moved on to being the bitch."

You'll also hear Joan's memories of making the TV movie, "These Old Broads" with /*Debbie Reynolds*/ and /*Shirley MacLaine*/.

Her stage show also takes viewers back to her role in one of the most popular Star Trek episodes of all time

"And it was the first time that Captain Kirk fell in love and I think we had a kiss," said Joan.

Joan would love to do more TV and is hoping a producer out there knows she's ready. What she won't do is retire.

"Can you think of anything worse than having to sit at home and do nothing? To me that is just like death," said Joan. "I cannot imagine not working."

You can see Joan and hear her stories Friday night at the Carpenter Performing Arts Center at Cal State Long Beach.
