LOS ANGELES --Los Angeles police fatally shot a man who called 911 saying he had killed his girlfriend.Officers got to the home on the 3100 block of Midvale Avenue just after 3 a.m. Saturday. When officers arrived, the man stepped out of the home and approached them with a handgun. That's when they fired fatally striking the man, said officer Norma Eisenman.
The girlfriend was found in the home unharmed. Eisenman said the incident appears to be a suicide by cop.
According to neighbors the man worked in construction, but had been out of work for a while and was distraught.
