The Los Angeles Police Commission is set to interview five more candidates Thursday who are looking to become LAPD's next chief. On Wednesday, commissioners interviewed eight prospective chiefs.

LAPD Chief William Bratton officially leaves his post October 31. The 62-year-old already has a new job lined up at a global security firm. Bratton has said he hopes someone from inside the department succeeds him, specifically a member of his command staff.

The Police Commission is expected to narrow down the applicant pool to three candidates and then send those names to Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa by mid-November.
