November 2, 2009 12:00:00 AM PST
A fire broke out in a research lab in the science building at Cal State Fullerton on Monday. Firefighters responded to Dan Black Hall in the 800 block of North State College Avenue at about 12:10 a.m. and put out the fire in about 20 minutes.

Fire officials say no one was in the building at the time, and no one was injured by the blaze.

Hazmat teams were on scene to make sure the building was safe for Cal State personnel and students.

Flames caused $10,000 in damages to lab equipment, but fire officials said there was no structural damage.

The cause of the fire has not been determined.
