LAGUNA BEACH, Calif. --If you like hitting the beach in Laguna during the early morning hours, watch out. The city passed a beach and park closing time ordinance on Tuesday. Walking, jogging, diving and fishing will all continue to be legal any time of the day at beaches and parks. But you will be cited between 1 and 5 a.m. for any other activities.
The ordinance comes after police reported a 25 percent increase in nighttime calls for service and parks and beaches this year. The ordinance goes into effect next month.
The Orange County Register contributed to this report.
