Was E. coli meat sold to schools?

November 8, 2009 12:00:00 AM PST
A California lawmaker is calling for an investigation into the risk of E. coli bacteria getting into the nation's school lunches.Representative George Miller is worried about the recent outbreak of the bacteria that killed two people and sickened over 20 others in 11 states.

It was linked to ground beef produced in New York State.

No schools are linked, but Miller asked the government accountability office to investigate if the tainted food could be purchased by schools.
