Fire destroys O.C. motel room

SANTA ANA, Calif. The fire broke out at around 1:30 a.m. at the Golden West Motel in the 2200 block of North Main Street.

When firefighters arrived, one upstairs motel room was on fire. They were able to knock out the flames in about 15 minutes, a Santa Ana Fire Department dispatcher said.

The room was a total loss. No one was inside the room at the time of the fire.

Two other nearby units sustained some minor smoke and water damage. Those rooms were occupied, but no one was hurt.
