Town hall to discuss debris flow preparation

SYLMAR, Calif. After a short, powerful rainstorm hit earlier this month near the /*Station Fire*/ burn area in La Canada Flintridge, mud and debris slid into streets and some homes.

Los Angeles city fire, police and engineering officials are scheduled to host a town hall meeting Monday night to talk about how they're preparing for the next time.

Information will be given out to assist residents living near the Sayre, Sessnon-Marek and Station fire areas in having a readiness and evacuation plan to help reduce the possibility of injury, property damage, or even death.

The meeting is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Olive Vista Middle School's gymnasium, located at 14600 Tyler Street in Sylmar.
