The live concert competition is a bit of a departure from previous years when students submitted CDs of their work and judges selected a winner. This year, the process is a little different. Judges will pick five finalists from the submissions. The Cds must contain only one instrumental song.
The five finalists will perform two songs live on stage. The winner of that competition will later perform on stage with Escovedo and receive a $500 scholarship.
Deadline for submissions is Dec. 18.
