New Xmas musical celebrates Manilow tunes

Hollywood Wrap with George Pennacchio
LOS ANGELES Barry Manilow's hit songs get some new words in "Frosty the Snow Manilow." It's Manilow's music and a classic Christmas story rolled into one.

"The main thing is to tell the story and make sure everybody has a great time," said Paul C. Vogt. "That's the best part of it. It's choreographed chaos -- just like the holidays."

Vogt plays Frosty and his identical twin, Peter, plays Crystal.

Veteran actor Jack McGee became a Troubie fan after seeing the company do "It's a Stevie Wonderful Life."

"There's a magic to this stuff," said McGee. "I been in this business a long time, 30 years, working a lot and I've never had as much fun as I've had with these kids. It's great."

There is one unanswered question. What will Barry Manilow's fans feel?

"Love, love, love. They will go buy Barry's CDs, iTunes," said actress Beth Kennedy. "We will help Barry sell music."

"Frosty the Snow Manilow" is playing at the Falcon Theatre in Burbank Dec. 11 through Jan. 17.
