44 homes ordered to evacuate in LA burn-areas

LOS ANGELES Los Angeles County Department of Public Works spokesman Gary Boze (Boh-ZAY') says that sheriff's deputies on Saturday night were helping people to leave 36 homes in La Canada Flintridge, six in La Crescenta and two in the Big Tujunga area.

All three areas were scorched by the giant Station Fire in July.

Boze says the evacuation orders should remain in effect as long as the rains remain.

Authorities say the homes are being evacuated as a precaution and none have been hit with mud or debris yet.

An emergency shelter has been set up at La Canada High School.
