2 arrested for stabbing cabbie, carjacking

Two suspects were arrested Saturday after allegedly stabbing a taxi driver and carjacking his cab.The incident happened at 8:54 p.m. on the 600 block of Guava Street in Oxnard. Officers arrived at the scene and found the 34-year-old victim suffering from several stab wounds.

The man told police that two suspects had assaulted him and when he jumped out of his taxi, the suspects drove away in it. The victim was transported to St. John's Regional Medical Center, where he was treated and released.

Moments after the crime, officers located the stolen taxi in the 600 block of West Fir Street, along with the two suspects, who were identified by the victim and witnesses. They were identified as 27-year-old Guadalupe Celedon and 20-year-old Damian Guzman, both of Oxnard.

Both suspects were arrested for carjacking, robbery and assault with a deadly weapon.

Meanwhile, police continue to investigate the incident.
