Neighbors told firefighters there were two people inside the home. Crews launched an aggressive attack on the fire, putting it out in about 20 minutes.
When they made their way inside they found an adult female in a bedroom. She was given medical aid and transported to an area hospital with critical injuries. An adult male was also found in the bedroom but was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
