San Bernardino deputies shoot, injure suspect

HESPERIA, Calif. Deputies say they were responding to a report of a man with a gun on the 17900 block of Live Oak Street Monday, when the man opened fire on them. The deputies returned fire, hitting the suspect, 38-year-old Chad Vasquez.

Vasquez managed to lead deputies on a short foot chase before they took him into custody. He was taken to the hospital to be treated for his injuries. Deputies say they did not appear to be life-threatening. No deputies were injured. Vasquez will be charged with attempted murder of a peace officer.
