The suspect vehicle drove into the Compton/Watts area.
One suspect could be seen driving, but tinted windows prevented seeing anyone else inside the SUV.
On Mary Street, the SUV slowed and the driver jumped out of the still-moving vehicle and ran through yards in the neighborhood. LAPD officers on foot caught up with the suspect and detained him.
Officers found at least four other suspects inside the SUV. They were also detained.
No one was injured in the incident.
