Ventura robber beats store clerk with hammer

VENTURA, Calif. Investigators say the robbery of the H and H Liquor Store on East Main Street near Santa Rosa Street happened on December 6, 2009, shortly before 3 p.m.

The suspect confronted the store clerk, demanding money. Police say the suspect then began hitting the clerk multiple times in the face and shoulder with an unknown type of hammer.

Investigators say the suspect also destroyed a surveillance monitor and a computer before fleeing the store with an undisclosed amount of money.

He is described as Latino, approximately 25 to 35 years old, 5 feet 7 inches tall, with a medium build and black hair.

The clerk suffered serious injuries.

There is a reward of up to $1,000 for Information leading to an arrest.
