The first alleged incident took place in May 2000. Prosecutors say Martinez offered a 14-year-old girl and her friend a ride from The Block at Orange. He then bought alcohol for them and took them back to his apartment. Investigators say Martinez later raped the 14-year old girl, who was unable to resist because she was intoxicated, before driving her home.
The second incident happened in December 2009. Martinez is accused of again offering a ride home to his alleged victim. This time it was a 24-year-old woman who was walking on Bristol Street in Santa Ana. Prosecutors say that in this case, Martinez is also accused of driving the victim to a liquor store to purchase alcohol and giving her alcohol to drink. Only this time, Martinez is alleged to have raped the woman in his van.
If convicted, Martinez faces a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison. He is being held on $250,000 bail and is scheduled to be arraigned Friday.
