Crews rescue puppy trapped in storm drain

GORMAN, Calif. Los Angeles water crews first heard the puppy's cries and called animal control and L.A. County Urban Search and rescue.

"When the firefighter got down in the hole, the dog jumped and licked him and gave him kisses, it was pretty excited about getting back out of the hole," said Capt. Kevin Waites of the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Firefighters said he looked healthy, and he was turned over to animal control.

It is not yet known who the puppy owners are. Authorities said no one has come forward to claim him.
