Stepfather arrested in 3-year-old's death

CABAZON, Calif. Riverside County Sheriff's deputies said they went to a home in the 14600 block of Cabazon Street after receiving a 911 call early Sunday morning. They said 3-year-old Ramon Jimenez was severely injured and was not breathing. He was rushed to the San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital in Banning, where he was pronounced dead.

The boy's stepfather, 32-year-old Jesse Martinez, Jr., is being held on $1 million bail. His first court appearance was scheduled for Wednesday.
