Man tries to kidnap 12-yr-old girl in Rubidoux

RUBIDOUX, Calif. The girl was walking through a parking lot in the 5700 block of Mission Boulevard at about 8:45 a.m. Thursday when the suspect drove up to the victim, got out and ordered her to get into his truck. The man grabbed the young girl's arm, but she was able to break free and ran to a nearby house to call police.

The suspect fled the scene in an unknown direction.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male about 40 years old with a dark complexion. He's about 5 feet 10 inches with a medium build, dark brown hair and a full beard. He was last seen wearing a blue buttoned-up shirt, black jeans and a dark green or black baseball hat.

The suspect's vehicle is described as an older model white, full-sized pickup truck. It had multiple dents and scratches on the exterior, and a gray metal toolbox installed in the bed of the truck behind the cab.
