Pasadena Animal Control says every time officers turn up, the chicken runs into the very busy Verdugo Road or Mountain Street, which is too dangerous for officers to follow.
The chicken looks well fed and is fast afoot. It's so quick no one is sure if it's a hen or a rooster.
Animal control has been trying to capture it for a week. However, locals say the chicken has been around the area for months.
