3 arrested in Ventura pot-growing operation

VENTURA, Calif. The suspects were arraigned Monday at the Ventura County Superior Court.

Last Wednesday, authorities served a search warrant at the home of Joey Brack in La Conchita and discovered 2 indoor marijuana-growing operations. Officers seized more than 3 pounds of processed marijuana and 300 marijuana plants.

At the same time, officers in Shasta County served another search warrant at Brack's Shasta home. Inside the home, they found $4,000 in cash, 180 marijuana plants, two shotguns and two rifles.

Investigators arrested Carola Jakubowski, 45, and Tyr Talavera, 18, both of Ventura, on suspicion of possessing marijuana for sale. Their bail was set at $175,000 each.

Brack was booked on a felony arrest warrant for possession of marijuana for sale, money laundering, tax evasion and grand theft of electricity from Southern California Edison. His bail was set at $675,000.
