Martin, Baldwin ready to host Oscars

Hollywood Wrap with George Pennacchio
LOS ANGELES "Ladies and gentlemen, meet one of the most talented and funniest motion picture actors of the last 40 years, going into his fifth decade in show business, Mr. Steve Martin," said Baldwin.

"And my introduction is, 'Ladies and gentlemen, Alec Baldwin,'" said Martin.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is relying on the buddy system for this year's ceremony, with Martin and Baldwin recruited to serve as Oscar co-hosts.

"I've hosted twice before, alone, and they felt I needed help," said Martin.

"When Steve hosted I was a little boy it was so exciting for me and I am thrilled to be doing this with him now," said Baldwin.

Martin can bring along his experience from hosting the 73rd and 75th Oscar ceremonies.

The two have shown that they can share the spotlight. They co-starred in the 2009 romantic comedy "It's Complicated" with /*Meryl Streep*/.

Producers will rely on the duo's wit and charisma to help move the show along.

But Martin promises to hold back on showing off his musical skills.

"I honestly don't think I'll bring my banjo," Martin joked.

"I think the Oscars will be intelligent, charming and urbane, and then we walk out," said Baldwin.

The 82nd Annual Academy Awards will take place on Sunday, March 7. You can watch the awards show on ABC7.
