The 16-year-old junior at Santa Monica High School devotes her time especially to the teen and preteen girls at the center.
"We get to give them advice. If they come back and say, "It worked, thank you," it's like we helped them out. It gives us a better sense of who we are. We like to help out," said Claudia.
Claudia is seen as the type of person who can be an inspiration to all around her.
"She's a great listener to the other kids, and she is also very smart, into her knowledge. She's a good student. She has a lot that the kids can look at her as a role model," said Lucia Diaz, the CEO of the Mar Vista Family Center.
Claudia has been going to the family center since she was 5 years old, and she looks to continue a cycle of service.
"I really want to give back to the people that have given so much to me. I've been part of it my whole life. So, I think that's why I'm really connected to it," Claudia said.
